Because we're located off the electrical grid, we generate all our electricity using diesel-powered generators. Generator fuel is a significant part of the cost of providing a room. Recent sharp increases in the price of diesel make it difficult to establish room prices that cover our costs but do not overcharge you. As a result, we are keeping our prices the same as they were in 2007 but adding a surcharge that reflects any change in fuel price. The surcharge will begin May 1, 2008 and will apply to all reservations made after that date.
The surcharge is based on the average amount of fuel used per night for a room rental. The surcharge is based on our average fuel price in 2007, $2.75 per gallon. For each $0.25 per gallon increase in price, a surcharge of $2.58 will be added to the room price. For example, on April 1, 2008 our fuel price was $3.54 per gallon, an increase of $0.78 per gallon. That translates to a surcharge of $7.74 per night for a room. If you call or email, we would be happy to tell you the current fuel price and surcharge amount.

All rooms except the family room have half-baths and the use of four large, private shower rooms. Cabin guests use bathrooms & showers in lodge.
